Billabong World Junior Championship 2011

The Billabong World Junior Championship 2012 is on at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast - Australia

The competition started this last Saturday (21/01/2012) to decide who wil be the ASP 2011 World Junior Champion.

The best world junior surfers were out there showing their repertoir of modern maneuvers on 2-3 foot waves at Burleigh Point for the final stop on the 2011 ASP World Junior Tour.

OCEAN BEACH, San Francisco/California (Monday, November 7, 2011) - The new sensation of the tour - Gabriel Medina - has done it again! This time the 17 year old Brazilian beat the Australian Joel Parkinson (30) to stand at the top of the podium as the winner of the stop number 10 of the ASP World Tour. This was Medina's 2nd victory on the tour this year after joinig it on the mid year rotation - 2 wins out of 4 events he's been on!

November 6, 2011 / Ocean Beach, San Francisco, CA, USA - After a mistake on the ASP maths and an early crowning, Kelly Slater has finally put his hand offically on his 11th ASP World Title after defeating Gabriel Medina and Miguel Pupo during the round four of the Rip Curl Pro Seach San Francisco 2011.

Congratulations Adriano de Souza for winning the Rip Curl Pro Search Portugal 2011 at Supertubos!

SUPERTUBOS, Peniche/Portugal  - Event No. 9 of 11 on the 2011 ASP World Title Series, the Rip Curl Pro Search Portugal was considered one of the best stops of the tour so far this year. The conditions were perfect with waves barreling to the left and to the right in clean three-to-five foot (1 – 1.5 metre).

Adriano the Souza beat the king of surfing - Kelly Slater -  on an exciting final heat.

Congratulations Gabriel Medina for winning the Quiksilver Pro France 2011!

To celebrate kid's days (traditional date in Brazil), the 17 year old Gabriel Medina sent some big names of the tour home earlier during the Quiksilver Pro France 2011 that took place in LA GRAVIERE, Hossegor/France taking it out over Julian Wilson from Australia in a final that will be common in a near future. That was the second competition Medina has been on the Tour after the rotation.

The two big names of the new surfing generation have batlled in three-to-four foot (1 metre) waves with Medina winning by 17.0 to 16.10.

Congratulations Kelly Slater for winning the Hurley Pro 2011 at Trestles,CA!

The King of Surfing does it again and claims the highest position on the podium! That was Slater's 5th Hurley Pro victory and the 48th victory on the ASP Tour.

At 39 years of age, Kelly Slater has defeated the 21 year old Australian Owen Wright in the finals by 17.50 to 16.74 showing that the new generation still has lots to learn from the King. What it seemed to be a victory to Owen Wright turned out to be another one for Kelly who got a scored at the last minute of the heat to celebrate another win on the ASP Tour.

Congratulations Kelly Slater for winning the Billabong Pro Tahiti 2011!

After sending home the Australian Josh Kerr (AUS), 27 during the Semifinals, the 5th stop of the ASP World Title Tour had Kelly Slater and the impressive Owen Wright surfing perfect conditions on the finals. The waves were clean 4 to 6 foot at Teahupo’o in Tahiti.

 

Surfing like he was having fun after a few gnarly wipe outs, the 10 times world champion Kelly Slater got some awesome backside barrels and scored an 18.43 heat total out of a possible 20 leaving Owen Wright - even though he had an amazing performance - in second place with a score of 17.10 points.
