Last week TOS was pumping and generating some of the best barrels for some free surfers in their lives.
The swell were around 3 to 5ft and the wind was light offshore (NW).
There were some pro surfers in the water as Bede Durbidge, Perth Stamdlick, among others.

It occurred yesterday (16/02/11) the first day of Breaka Burleigh Pro, four-star event of the ASP, with a climate very variable, sometimes raining and other sunny, so were the waves, a little irregular and unpredictable.
In general, the Locals were those that were better on that first day getting great positions, especially Ice Pereira-Ryan and Lawson Hayles from Coolangatta and Currumbin.
On the second day of the Breaka Burleigh Pro the swell has improved with more size and a better quality waves than the previous day, allowing competitors to demonstrate their skills and provide a true show the public that watched the championship. One of the biggest sensations was the Australian GARRETT PARKES in the second round (of 128) amounted to 15.5 (out of 20 possible) and leaving all his opponents in combination. In the same round also gave the show Jack Freestone (14.84), JAY PHILLIPS (13.33), ELLIS ERICSON (13:17), PERTH STANDLICK (13:07) and SAM Lendrum (13.00).

A few days ago I went to Elanora and there were only 2 guys enjoying the skate park.
The skatepark offers a full pipe and many ramps for high performance moves and the fun time is guaranteed!

The Cyclone Vania delivers some great waves on the South East Queensland and on the Northern of New South Wales.
Cyclone Vania formed in the Coral Sea south of Fiji last week and tracked south well offshore the way we like it. The squeeze in isobars between Vania and a High pressure system in the Tasman Sea created a long range east swell.

Steph Gilmore claims 2010 ASP Womens World Title Stephanie Gilmore(AUS), has claimed her fourth consecutive ASP Women’s World Title, making history at the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Search Puerto Rico. With her Quarterfinal win over Melanie Bartels(HAW), Gilmore accumulated enough points to knock sole remaining contender, Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) out of the running for the 2010 ASP Women’s World Title Race.
Congratulations Steph!

The 3x world surfing champion Andy Irons has died in the way back from Puerto Rico to Hawaii.
Andy Irons, 32, was the only surfer to challenge nine-times world champion Kelly Slater in the early 2000s, and won world titles of his own in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
His rivalry with Slater over that period, especially in the final of the Pipe Masters, was the highlight of the sport during the period. Irons, who grew up on Maui, Hawaii, was known for his powerful and stylish surfing, as well as his aerial technique.
